To the future IAS

Got to admit it's lot easier wish than done, the road to becoming an IAS is not a pave one rather one has to move every dirt and stone to reach there. Am cent sure that it is important and okay to believe that in the end one will end up being successful, so here goes to the future IAS:

Judge not your success by the post you hold nor by the appraisal. Measure not yourself with the followers you accumulated, neither the favor you got from politicians. Measure not your success with the wealth you gain, for this will come to pass away someday.

Instead measures yourself of this, the times you gave hope to hopeless. Of times you fought the mighty for the helpless and of times you gave up your comfort to get the work done. Measures yourself by the times you were left alone by your colleagues coz you stand for truth, and of the times you are the inspiration to the youth. Measure yourself of the times the people register their complaint, for its the voice concern a sign of trust and confidence.

The respect and love the people you are call to serve and complaint not the missing perks. At time you maybe frame and blame for no faults of yours, learn to keep thyself abreast above all this. Yours is not a job, for if it is one you be rewarded accordingly, neither is yours a business to run and a empire to build. Yours is not a profession to just follow the standard procedure and hang the boots up.

Yours is all but a service, to serve the needy, the helpless, to stand for truth. To give and not to take, to protect and not to seek protection. Complain not of the frequent transfer and neither hold grudge against anyone. And forget not the wish you had before becoming one, the character you deserve from an IAS.
